Network Tasman required a new headquarters that reflected its strong regional identity while demonstrating leadership in sustainable construction. The project focused on delivering a modern, efficient workplace with reduced embodied carbon and operational energy use, while maintaining durability and architectural quality.

Scott Construction was engaged through an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) process, collaborating with Irving Smith Architects and Vector Structural Engineering from the early design stages. This enabled early input into constructability, structural systems and foundation design.

Following evaluation of multiple options, the team selected a screw-pile foundation system with a suspended timber floor, supporting the project’s low-carbon objectives. Early collaboration also enabled refinement of construction sequencing, prefabrication opportunities and material selections, improving cost efficiency and programme certainty.
